Tenemos Memoria (We Have Memory)
Havana, Sep 4
The event called Tenemos Memoria (We Have Memory), Solidarity Vs. Blockade and Terrorism, began today in the capital with a tribute to the young Italian Fabio Di Celmo, victim in 1997 of a terrorist attack with a bomb that was placed at Havana''s Hotel Copacabana.
The ceremony, held at the headquarters of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), was attended by relatives of Cuban victims of state terrorism who condemned the decades of hostility against the island by the United States and ratified their support for the fight against that scourge.
ICAP president, Fernando Gonzalez, stated that despite repeated plans to destabilize the country, the pain could not break the unity of the Cuban people around its Revolution.
Cuba ratifies its commitment to fight against terrorism in the world and this is what is expressed today by the Constitution draft submitted to popular consultation from August 13 to November 15, he said.
For her part, the president of the International Peace, Justice and Dignity Committee of the Peoples, Graciela Ramirez, highlighted the importance of this day in moments that she described as extremely difficult for Latin America, in which imperialism tries to subdue the peoples through media manipulation and the imposition of governments.
