Cuba will Continue to Advance, Foreign Minister Says
Havana, Jul 6
Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez said on Saturday that Cuba will continue to advance in the construction of a more sustainable, fair, friendly and prosperous society.
In a message on Twitter, the foreign minister noted that Cuba will advance with a firm and secure step based on the political will and effort by the Cuban Government and people.
The country's leadership has taken a series of actions to guarantee a greater economic development. Early this week, the Government announced a salary increase for the budgeted sector, after which more efforts and dedication to work and an increase in productivity are expected.
On Friday, Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel, when speaking at a working meeting with members of the entrepreneurial sector, underlined the need to boost that system and its participation in the development of local initiatives.
Diaz-Canel noted that the impact of the pay raise in the budgeted sector implies an increase in demand, goods, services, and business people play a key role in that. He pointed out that the entrepreneurial system must take advantage of all its potentialities to achieve a high-quality product available in the national market and for export.
